Aim Low

This will be a common phrase you will hear a lot on your trip.

Adjusting for the refraction of the water, your aim will get dialed in with practice.

An Awesome Day of Fishing

Bowfishing is a very challenging way to catch fish, and it’s fun too! Bowfishing will test you in a way that will make your brain hurt. You see the fish, you aim and you miss over and over again, until it just clicks then its fish on.

What to Expect

Our Bowfishing day trips run 6 hours and begin mid morning when the sun is high. Your guide will provide directions for where to meet, as the Columbia River has many ramps to launch from, depending on what area of the river we plan to fish.

Bowfishing can be very successful throughout the day, you will be able to see large schools of fish along with the top water fish that get your blood pumping.

Graveyard trips (Night fishing) we like to get you on the boat just prior to sunset for an equipment walkthrough and safety check before it gets dark, then we are off to the fishing grounds.

After the sun has set, we kick on the generator and turn on the lights to brightly illuminate the surface of the water, turning night into day and enabling easy spotting of carp as they come to the surface to feed.

If you’re new to angling or bowfishing, we teach all the techniques you need to have a fun, adventure-filled day on the water. This makes our combo trip a perfect outing for friends, family and clients — even if you’ve never fished before.

What to Bring

Hydration & Beverages:

Bottled water is always available on the boat. You can bring your own food and drinks if you desire. We have a Yeti full of ice to store cold beverages.

UV Protection:

We do recommend UV suncreen protection, either UV clothing or sunscreen for day trips, as temperatures on the water can easily reach triple digits. Bug spray can be helpful during days with light or no wind.

Sunglasses:

Polarized sunglasses are a must for bowfishing, to aid in seeing the fish through water glare.

Layered Clothing:

Dress and clothing should be in layers for rapidly changing weather conditions. Warm layered clothing can more easily be removed when not needed; if you don’t bring it, being cold is no fun. The weather in the Pacific Northwest can swing between extremes, especially on full-day trips. We recommend being prepared, including wind breakers and light rain gear.

Fishing License:

Last, and very important: you need to supply your fishing license. Oregon requires a fishing license for all fishing activities. Please click the link below to purchase your fishing license prior to showing up for your fishing adventure.
